Individual web sites can be expensive
to build and complicated to manage. Now members can afford
to have their own personal web page as part of the Guild's
web site for the modest annual cost of £40
pa. That's about the annual cost of a postcard in your
local newsagent's window.
Think of it as your own online brochure,
explaining the range of therapies that you offer, including
brief testimonials and client comments etc. An ideal
word count is 200 to 350, to give a balanced look to your
page. Your own web page
As
a listed therapist, you will have your own web page,
linked to the regional listing in the Directory of Therapists.
Here's what it will contain:
 |
Your own words,
describing your services, to help clients choose
you from among the many other therapists in the region. |
 |
Full contact details, so new clients
can get in touch with you by phone, letter or email,
to make an appointment. |
 |
A photograph, to make it more reassuring
and easier for clients to pick up the phone and call
for an appointment. |
 |
A map link, so they can find where
you work, saving you hours of time explaining exactly
where you are based. |
 |
You can add links to other web sites,
if you wish. If you already have your own web site,
the directory will produce more visitors for your site. |
 |
Include any client comments and testimonials,
if you want. Use up to 250 - 350 words of description. |
 |
Cost is just £40 pa. See the
details on the Q&A page. |

See the details below to answer other
common queries. |
Q & A:
Can I include more words and images?
Sorry, no . The price is reasonable because we use a standard
format. You can use more words, but the page will become
over-long and visitors probably won't read too far. So
200 - 350 words is about right.
Does it take long to publish?
Pages take
2 - 3 days to set up on average. Then we correct any errors
and you have the option of changing some of your words,
if you want.
What if I change
my email address or get a new phone number?
No problem.
Changes take a day or two to implement and there is no
charge for them.
Can I design my own page?
Yes and No! The price quoted
is for a standard format. However, I also build sites for
complementary therapists and always quote competitive prices.
See www.greendrift.co.uk for
some examples.
I've got a web site already,
so what's the point?
Each
page is coded for search engines to bring visitors directly
to your page, so that you should find that your main site
receives more traffic from the Guild page.
What
do I need to send?
Send the following information
for your web page directly to The Guild's web master:
1. Your wording in a Word document by email or on a disk
2. Details of where you work including your full post code
(for the map link)
3. An image (JPG file from a digital camera, or a photograph
to scan - your choice
4. Your pre-payment of £40 payable to Roger Hocking:
Send or email the information for
the page to:
Roger Hocking
Green Drift, Clifford Road
Boston Spa

My email address is greendrift@ntlworld.com
You are welcome to phone me, Roger, if you have any queries:

a receipt and your
page should be live within 3 working days, in most cases.

As a web designer, I manage web sites
for several therapy groups and these pages for
therapists are tried and proven on several sites.
Interestingly, the first people to take
up the offer are often those who have spent
£ hundreds on their own web sites and then
found that very few visitors find the site. A simple link
from their page on the main therapy group web site, like
this one, brings them a lot of traffic for very little
cost.
You can see examples on several web
sites like:
