Guidance notes for the contents of your
own web page.
Wording:
Objective: Your key objective is simply to persuade potential clients to pick up the phone and contact you.
Tone: Some practitioners write about their life and how they personally discovered their therapy - this makes them very approachable, normal people.
Remember that you are painting a picture with words to someone who is hesitating before picking up the phone. So include those things about your experience, personality, treatment area and general approach to therapy that will encourage potential clients to make up their mind to contact you.
Close with an invitation to make contact, because you want to help them overcome their problem (rephrase in your own words). This final sentence is important!
Experience: If you have any specialist areas (ie treating children, pets, stress etc) then you could mention them, but include the comment that you see clients with a wide range of problems.
Testimonials: These are always reassuring and everyone loves to read them. Keep them fairly brief and do get permission from your clients to disclose their details.
Your therapies: You should describe the range of therapies that you can offer.
Word
Count: No more than 250 words in total, please.
Your
picture:
It is much easier for any visitor to phone if they can visualise who they are calling. A web page without a picture looks less balanced and will probably be less effective. However, you can use a picture of your clinic or therapy centre, if you prefer. Please send the image as a .jpg file. If that is difficult, let us know and we can arrange to scan it for you.
Map link:
We will include a link to a map page (Multimap) which shows where you work. It is based on your post code and visitors can print off the map that appears, if they want. It can save you hours of explanation, giving directions over the phone!
